Our Training Methods

At Accessible Dog Training, our training methods are rooted in science, ethics, and compassion. This means we use evidence-based, field-tested methods that are ethical, humane, and compassionate, designed to build trust and mutual understanding between you and your dog. We use reward-based methods that reinforce desired behaviors:

Things We Do

  • Treat rewards
  • Praise and affection rewards
  • Clicker and verbal markers
  • Luring with treats
  • Desensitization
  • Counterconditioning

Whether you're working on basic manners, behavior challenges, or advanced skills, our training respects your dog’s emotional well-being and individuality every step of the way.

We do not use any tools or methods that cause fear, pain, or intimidation. This includes:

  • Yelling and intimidation
  • Dominance or pack leader methods
  • Aversive tools (choke chains, prong collars, electronic/shock collars)
  • Any other force-based or aversive techniques
