Our Training Methods
At Accessible Dog Training, our training methods are rooted in science, ethics, and compassion. This means we use evidence-based, field-tested methods that are ethical, humane, and compassionate, designed to build trust and mutual understanding between you and your dog. We use reward-based methods that reinforce desired behaviors:
Things We Do
- Treat rewards
- Praise and affection rewards
- Clicker and verbal markers
- Luring with treats
- Desensitization
- Counterconditioning
Whether you're working on basic manners, behavior challenges, or advanced skills, our training respects your dog’s emotional well-being and individuality every step of the way.
We do not use any tools or methods that cause fear, pain, or intimidation. This includes:
- Yelling and intimidation
- Dominance or pack leader methods
- Aversive tools (choke chains, prong collars, electronic/shock collars)
- Any other force-based or aversive techniques
